The Absolute Absurdity of “Gay” Pride

The Following is an absurd “proclamation” released by the new president Barack Obama:

 THE WHITE HOUSE
Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release                                     June 1, 2009
LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, AND TRANSGENDER PRIDE MONTH, 2009
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION
Forty years ago, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted police harassment that had become all too common for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans.
LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society. There are many well-respected LGBT leaders in all professional fields, including the arts and business communities. LGBT Americans also mobilized the Nation to respond to the domestic HIV/AIDS epidemic and have played a vital role in broadening this country’s response to the HIV pandemic.
Due in no small part to the determination and dedication of the LGBT rights movement, more LGBT Americans are living their lives openly today than ever before. I am proud to be the first President to appoint openly LGBT candidates to Senate-confirmed positions in the first 100 days of an Administration. These individuals embody the best qualities we seek in public servants, and across my Administration — in both the White House and the Federal agencies — openly LGBT employees are doing their jobs with distinction and professionalism.
The LGBT rights movement has achieved great progress, but there is more work to be done. LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect.
My Administration has partnered with the LGBT community to advance a wide range of initiatives. At the international level, I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world. Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security. We must also commit ourselves to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic by both reducing the number of HIV infections and providing care and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS across the United States.
These issues affect not only the LGBT community, but also our entire Nation. As long as the promise of equality for all remains unfulfilled, all Americans are affected. If we can work together to advance the principles upon which our Nation was founded, every American will benefit. During LGBT Pride Month, I call upon the LGBT community, the Congress, and the American people to work together to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to turn back discrimination and prejudice everywhere it exists.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.
BARACK OBAMA

I’ve never heard of such a foolish thing coming from the highest office of government. Let me explain why I object so strongly as a Christian to the president promoting homosexuality.

First, homosexuality is a shameful thing not a prideful thing.  Romans 1:26-27, “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversions.” The Apostle Paul’s language in describing homosexuality is clear – all forms of homosexual practices are shameful. Far from being something to be proud of, homosexuality is something to be ashamed of. According to the Bible – both in the Old Testament and New Testament – all homosexual acts are shameful; it is absolutely impossible to take pride in anything connected with them. Listen to how strong is the language the Apostle Paul uses in this passage as translated in different versions of the Bible. The King James Version, “vile affections” and “unseemly.” The Jerusalem Bible, “degrading passions” and “shameless.” The Revised Standard Version, “dishonorable passions” and “shameless acts.” The Phillips Modern English Version, “disgraceful passions” and “shameful horrors.” The New Living Translation, “shameful desires” and “shameful things.” The New American Standard Bible, “degrading passions” and “indecent acts.” Vine’s Expository Dictionary describes the Greek word ATIMIAS used in verse 26: “from a, negative, TIME, honor, denotes dishonor, ignominy, disgrace, in Rom. 1:26, ‘vile passions’ (R.V), lit., ‘passions of dishonor.’” Vine’s describes the Greek word ASCHEMOSUNE used in verse 27: “denotes ‘unseemliness,’ Rom. 1:27, R.V. (A.V. ‘that which is unseemly’).” It is clear from the Apostle Paul’s choice of words that he was trying to communicate something strongly negative. The different words different translations use all underscore this point – vile affections, unseemly, degrading passions, shameless, dishonorable passions, shameful horrors, shameful desires, shameful things, or indecent acts – all of these words describe the very opposite of any conduct worthy of pride. Yet President Barack Obama signs a “gay pride” proclamation encouraging everyone to support and promote homosexuality, something the Bible calls shameful and disgraceful. In truth, if some kind of a proclamation must be signed by the president concerning homosexuality it should be proclamation naming June as “gay shame month” – that would be closer to the truth. The fact is, there doesn’t need to be any proclamation for or against homosexuality coming from the office of the president. The president claims to be a Christian but it’s hard to know what Bible he’s reading from or what Christian teachings he’s following. For him to directly contradict a clear Christian moral and ethical value, and even go so far as to promote an attitude of pride in something that Christianity and Western moral tradition describes as shameful is indefensible. This is one of, if not the most, direct attacks by any president on Christian and Western culture moral values ever. We must strongly reject to any taking pride in or promoting of any immoral practice, such as homosexuality. Instead, we must continue to label and describe immorality, such as homosexuality, for what it is – sinful and shameful, not something to be promoted, but instead discouraged.

Second, Government leaders should know better than to promote immorality. Psalms 2:1-3, “Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One. ‘Let us break their chains,’ they say, ‘and throw off their fetters.’” And Romans 1:32, “Although they know God’s righteous decrees that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” It seems that the current administration and Senate majority and the majority party in the House of Representatives have no fear of God at all. It’s as if there is no God in Washington today. It’s as if there is no Law of God in Washington today. As far as government is concerned God may as well not exist because leaders don’t acknowledge him except in superficial ways. There may be prayers that open congress but these are understood in more of a quaint or traditional way. If God and God’s Laws were taken seriously by today’s leaders in Washington we would never see such an absurd thing as national gay pride month. Psalm 2 describes our current situation among most governmental leaders, not only at the federal level but now also in state and county governments too. There simply is no fear of God. Instead, there is a decidedly anti-Christ, anti-God attitude growing at all levels of government here in the United States. “The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord,” saying “Let us break their (God the Father and God the Son) chains and throw off their fetters.” There is a spiritual rebelliousness permeating government structures here in the United States that is growing, not diminishing. The attitude is to “throw off” as much of the old Christian morality and ethical standards as possible. Absolute freedom is the goal — even freedom from God and God’s Laws. Romans 1 adds another dimension to this dynamic when it says, “Although they know God’s righteous decrees . . . they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” The sad fact is that most of our governmental leaders, whether in Washington or in state capitals or county headquarters profess to be Christians. Most are probably members of some local Christian church. They know that the Bible teaches and Christianity affirms that homosexual practices are morally wrong. Most governmental leaders know that Christianity teaches that marriage is between a man and a woman; they know that same-sex marriage is morally wrong. They know that promoting a moral wrong is never right. The president, who claims to be a Christian, knows that homosexuality is a shameful practice, yet – just as Romans 1 describes – he approves of those who practice it. There is no other name for this other than spiritual and moral rebellion. Not only are homosexuals in spiritual and moral rebellion against God, so too, now our leaders in government are joining them in moral and spiritual rebellion against God. We must call them all to repentance.

Third, judgment from God will come upon our nation for promoting sin and immorality. Psalms 2:10-12, “Therefore you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.” The message for the president and other government leaders who promote the immoral practice of homosexuality through proclamation or by law is this – repent, reform and rededicate yourself back to God and God’s Law. But what if the president and lawmakers and judges don’t repent? What if they don’t reform their rebellious way? What if they don’t rededicate themselves back to God and following God’s basic moral and ethical laws? What will result if there is no stopping the rebellion against God at all levels of government, starting at the highest levels, such as the president, senate and congress? Psalm 2 describes the consequences of persistent rebellion by community leaders, “lest he (God) be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment.” Catastrophic disaster can befall our nation, our society, our people at a moment’s notice. Remember the terrorist attacks on 9/11? Remember how suddenly it all came upon us? Only in a matter of a few hours two huge buildings were brought down to the ground and thousands of lives were gone. But that could only be a prelude to even more grave disasters. Listen to how Psalm 2:4-5 describes God’s reaction to continued spiritual and moral rebellion against him, “The one enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath.” If the president and government leaders continue to flaunt God’s moral and ethical commands by promoting homosexual activity through such absurd measures as a national gay pride month proclamation, we may see the patience of God grow thin and eventually we may even see God’s wrath and judgment come upon our nation as he repeatedly warns us in the Bible. There may be no fear of God in the hearts of government leaders today, but after our nation experiences God’s frightening wrath in the form of some natural or unnatural disaster, the president and government leaders may look back and recognize what fools they’ve been in promoting as right what God says clearly is wrong. If our leaders don’t naturally have the fear of God in them now, God has ways of putting such fear in them. Look at Psalm 2:5, “Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath.” The word “terrifies” sounds awfully close to the word “terrorism.” Yes, because of our rebellious attitude and stubborn sin, God may use terrorists to terrorize our nation until it learns the fear of God. I’m not saying God will use terrorism to put the fear of God in Americans but I’m saying he could. We could see our nation ruined because of our flaunting of God’s moral laws.

I am greatly disappointed that any president would openly encourage and support the sin of homosexuality. Of course, he does so under the guise of equal justice for all Americans. The problem with this is that it must be justice within a moral framework. Justice can’t simply stand alone without some moral structure. The president and government leaders who are pushing for the promotion of homosexuality are acting as if there is no need for any moral or ethical context for justice. The president says in the proclamation that “LGBT Americans continue to strengthen the fabric of American society,” but how can this be? Certainly from a Christian moral and ethical standpoint LGBT – Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Trans-Gendered Persons – destroy or tear down or break up the moral fabric of America, not build it up. But the president must be speaking of areas other than moral or ethical. But even in these areas, one is hard pressed to find how LGBT persons “strengthen the fabric of America.” For example, the promoting of homosexuality, the normalizing of alternative sexual lifestyles actually hurt young people in undergoing the normal changes associated with adolescence. Instead of helping young people gain clarity as to their own sexuality, instead, the acceptance of diverse sexual orientations breeds confusion and uncertainty. The acceptance of homosexuality hurts young people. It also hurts marriages because it distracts couples from making their own marriage work to sometimes asking questions such as, “Should I even be married to a member of the opposite sex, or should I be married to a member of the same sex?” Instead of clear moral and ethical standards to accept and follow, people are left with moral uncertainty that calls into question the teachings of Christianity, the Bible and the church. This is detrimental to society. It does not “strengthen the fabric of America,” as the president’s gay pride proclamation argues. The president says in the proclamation that he’s proud to be the first president to appoint openly LGBT persons to his administration. If he’s a Christian how can he “proud” in promoting persons who participate in, according to the Bible and Christian moral teachings, “shameful” acts? He then says of them, “These individuals embody the best qualities we seek in public servants.” But how can individuals who practice shameful, degrading, indecent acts be considered embodying the “best” qualities of public service? Again, the president seems to remove any Christian moral or ethical context for what he says and does. It’s as if there were no God, no Bible, no Christian church, and no Western civilization tradition of morality as a context. With no moral or ethical framework for anything, the president then speaks and acts in a moral vacuum in order to come up with his decisions. But as I’ve taught before and as the Bible says, “God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7). God will have the last word, not the president.

in the new covenant there is only one standard, it is the love that is god. and in regards to the law, its the 2nd commandment(love ones neighbor……..) that is the essence of all new covenant law. in other words that which is a sin is that which comes against the second commandment.

how does homosexuality come against it?

i never used the word dispute.

as far as what is a sin. ive said it three different ways. romans says the summation of all new covenant law is the 2nd commandment. therefore sin is anything that comes against the 2nd commandment.(love your neighbor………..)

in regards to homosexuality, how does it come against the 2nd commandment?

in regards to women teaching in church, how does it come against the second commandment?
